The Bride wore…
Weiland's dress, which she designed herself, was embroidered with hundreds of hand-drawn illustrations of places, animals and memories held dear by the couple.
The dress was accessorised with the Antonia Bag, designed by Hannah Weiland for her 'something blue', which is exclusive to our website only (available here).
Weiland with her bridesmaids, wearing printed silk Shrimps dresses with hand-painted red roses, a print that appears in the Autumn/Winter 2018 collection. 'My middle name is Rose so I thought it was sentimental', says Hannah.
The Bridesmaids carried a cream Antonia Bag each which made the perfect confetti holders!
Fee Greening is a London based illustrator specialising in dip pen and ink. She is inspired by Medieval, Gothic and Flemish art. A simple but sumptuous handwritten menu can help bring together the perfect table setting. We guarantee your guests will want to preserve them and take them home to treasure forever.
The table names were also illustrated by Fee Greening featuring anatomical drawings of whelks, fossils, periwinkles and shells.
Creativity & Inspiration by Matilda Goad
Matilda Goad, a good friend of Hannah’s helped bring the Shrimps dream to life. She sourced the mismatched antique cutlery, wicker place mats, stripy napkins and silver-plated oyster shells which were used for salt cellars. Long tables dressed in mustard yellow linen tablecloths and dotted with Goad’s ribbed beeswax candles were each named after different shells, another obsession for Hannah. (It’s all in the details.)
The Location
If you’re wanting your wedding outside, why not look in to a bespoke tent company. The Shrimps wedding used an exquisitely-decorated, silk-lined circus tent for the Wedding Breakfast via LPM Bohemia Tent Company.
Matilda even transformed a house in the grounds in to ‘The Arthurs Arms’ where kitsch pub décor reigned: miniature pigs, splashy beer mats, racks of Hula Hoops and scampi fries, beer tankards and Guinness kegs filled the room and a 'Shrimps Love Guinness' sign featuring a pint-wielding crustacean swung outside.
So if you have an out-building or even a garden shed have a think about what you could recreate it as?
The Cake
The cake of choice was an extravagant four-tiered Lily Vanilli creation studded with icing shells.
Hannah wanted something Marie Antoinette-esque dripping in butter icing, kind of like Elvis Presley’s wedding cake, tall and with strawberries.
Wedding Favours
Branded matchboxes with a personalised illustrated logo.
The Feast
Welcome your guests to trays of champagne, cocktails and a feast of mouth-watering canapés. The Shrimps wedding feast was supplied by Melanie Arnold and Margot Henderson of Arnold & Henderson, the duo behind the much-loved Rochelle Canteen.
The Flowers
Scarlet & Violet decked out the Shrimps pews with alliums, foxgloves, peonies, roses and ran silver birch trees up the pillars.
And they lived happily ever after...
